Story
Exodus Travel Ministries believe it or not started because of Coffee! The founder Laura McLane started an LLC called The Exodus Coffee Company back in 2020. She wanted to take a percentage of the funds earned and give to the mission partners that she had come to know through Shasta Bible College where she attended. Another avenue she was led to help was to sponsor an addiction program, something very close to her heart. With everything in this world, those things take money. While going to college full time, studying the Bible, she was also studying coffee.
Later Laura went on mission to Costa Rica, visited farms and learned about coffee. That's where she found Ben & Taja who run The Omega Task Ministries. There she finally understood her calling. Coffee had led her here. Romans 8:28 took on a whole new meaning. When God calls you to it, you will know it!
Soon after Laura started to put together her travel ministries. She had been a travel agent for quite some time. Her husband Tony helped her come up with the idea to do the Solo Women Group Faith Based Trips. They came up with the name Exodus, because of the deep meaning and impact it has had in their family. Escaping the bondage is a necessity. Recovery from addiction is not only in her past, but in her family as well. Exodus was the perfect name. The Greek word for Exodus means, a way out. Most of you know it from the story of Moses and the deliverance of God's people the Israelites. After wondering in the wilderness for so long, waiting for her promised land, the Exodus signified a new thing, a new season. A deliverance that brings freedom. Freedom is the truth. Bringing the very truth of the gospel is what Laura is determined to deliver, not only to the teams she guides, but for those they serve.
A piece of her heart is in a few different places. The Virgin Islands, Roatan, and Costa Rica. God has had a hand in the relationships that have been built. Laura wants to share those relationships and help others find what she has found serving in these global areas. Missionaries are not just long term; they can be short term. Sometimes you don't realize the impact you can have in just 9-12 days. In fact, most of the time.......It will change you!
Exodus Travel Ministries has designed these tours to not only experience some of God's most beautiful creations, but to create a faith filled journey, one that is Spirit led, that will amplify the truth. Our goal is to bring teams to our partner ministries to help break the chains of bondage, the bonds of poverty, and bring the cross to the lost. We want to empower women to bond together in faith through Jesus Christ to renew their strength and be the salt of the earth. Both through Missions and Spiritual Care Trips, we aim to bring change, transform lives, build faith, and train disciples for Christ.
